THE SECTORS BASED SCHEME (SBS)


The Sectors Based Scheme (SBS) arrangements allow UK based employers to recruit people from outside the EEA to fill certain, specified posts within the following sectors:

• Hospitality
• Food manufacturing

Hospitality

Bar staff

Chefs at NVQ level 2 and below

Cleaner of premises
(in staff canteens/restaurants only)

Concierge staff

Food service operatives
(serving food to paying customers)

Housekeeper

Kitchen assistant
(helps prepare food, cleans, and provides assistance to staff)

Room attendants

Reception Staff

In the following establishments (Excluding cleaners):

Contract/event catering business
(providing catering services for a one off or series of social events)

Cafeteria

Caravan Parks

Clubs

Hotel

Motorway service station

Public house

Restaurant

Take away shop

Food Manufacturing

Fish

Fish filleters
(prepares, cleans, cuts fish for processing)

Fish packers
(packing, wrapping, labelling, sealing, by hand or machine, fish for
distribution and sale)


Fish process operatives
(operating, minding, cleaning machines that prepare fish for distribution
and sale)

Meat

Animal gut remover

Meat bone breaker

Meat bone extractor

Meat cold store operator

Meat cutter

Meat packer

Meat process operative

Meat slaughterer

Lairageman
(pre-slaughter animal welfare attendant)

Trimmer
(trims fat from and shapes meat, after it has been boned and cut)

General

Mushroom processor
(Tends growing crops, picks, grades and packs mushrooms for
distribution and sale)
